The Deputy Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Milagrosa Obono Angue, held a working session on Friday, 23 October, with the Board of Directors of the National Development Agency of Equatorial Guinea (ANDGE), headed by its Director General, in order to analyse the institution’s action plan and its proposal for organizational restructuring, as part of the preparations for the economic year 2027.

During the meeting, two key issues were discussed: the Agency’s short- and medium-term action plan and the proposal for institutional restructuring, both aimed at strengthening the follow-up to Agenda 2035 of Equatorial Guinea.

As part of the action plan, ANDGE submitted a proposal to develop and implement a national technical tool for monitoring, supervision and evaluation. This tool will provide objective and up-to-date information on the level of implementation of national strategic objectives. It will facilitate the identification of progress, the identification of potential gaps and the adoption of corrective measures to improve the results of public interventions.

The proposed institutional restructuring also includes organisational and functional adjustments aimed at strengthening the technical capacity of the Agency. Its main objectives are the consolidation of an integrated monitoring system for the four pillars of Programme 2035, the promotion of studies and research, the mobilization of resources, the identification of productive opportunities and the development of digital tools to facilitate decision-making and accountability.

In her speech, the Associate Minister emphasized that compliance with the action plan is not the sole responsibility of the Branch, but a collective commitment that requires the active participation of all employees of the institution.

In this regard, he stressed the importance of teamwork, internal coordination and the participation of all stakeholders in ensuring an effective assessment of national development goals.

Milagrosa Obono Angue also urged staff to carry out their duties with professionalism, harmony and a spirit of public service, reminding them that public servants must act in the service of the government and the general interests of the country, beyond the management structures of each institution.

The session also allowed employees to express their concerns, explain the difficulties encountered by the Agency and make recommendations to improve its operations. The Deputy Minister listened to their proposals and welcomed their willingness to contribute to institutional strengthening.

The meeting concluded with the recognition of worker participation and a commitment to continue to promote organisational and technical improvements that will enable ANDGE to effectively fulfil its mission and contribute to the follow-up to Agenda 2035 of Equatorial Guinea.
